                            Eating habits:

a. Start eating in the name of Allaah (BismiLlaahir Rahmaanir Rahiym) and finish by praising and thanking Allaah (Al-Hamdul Lillaahi Rabbil-‘Aalamiyn). Eat what's in front of you in your container and use your right hand, because the left hand is usually used for cleaning dirt.

Al-Bukhaariy and Musim have received from the story of 'Umar bin Abi Salaam (Radha Allaahu' anhu), that the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) had said to him: ((Say the name of Allaah, eat with your right hand eat what's in front of you in the container.))

b. Do not complain or deny the food in any way.Al-Bukhaariy and Muslim have received from Abu Hurayrah's narrations (Riyad Allaahu 'anhu), that: ((Messenger of Allaah (Swalla Allaahu' sallam al-alaihi)), did not find any defects in any food. If he likes it, he'll eat it, if he didn't like it he'll just leave it.))

c. Avoid eating or drinking until according to the Qur'anic guidance:

{{Eat (well) and drink (well). But don't go to extremes. Surely He (Allaah) does not like the extremes (the extremes).}} [Suraatul-'Aaraaf, 7:31]

And in the words of the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam): (The son of Aadam (man) never found a vessel beyond his belly. If there is no way, then there should be a third of the food, some to the drink and the other to the breath. .)) [As narrated by Ahmad].

d. Do not hold your breath or breathe into vessels. According to Ibn 'Abbaas the Prophet (Swalla Allaahu' sallam alayhi al-alai) said: ((Beware of breathing or breathing in the vessel.)) [Received by At-Tirmidhidy].

e. Eat with others, do not be alone, for the Messenger of Allaah has said: ((Gather in your food for blessing.)) [Received by Abu Daawuud and Tirmidhiy].

f. If you are invited to a meal and have taken someone with you, you must ask permission from the invitee. Due to Abu Masʻuud Al-Badriy (Radha Allaahu 'anhu), one person invited the Messenger of Allaah (Swalla Allaahu' sallam al-alaihi) to dinner with four others. Someone followed the Prophet (sallallaahu 'sallam alayhi alayhi). When he arrived at the door, the Prophet (Swalla Allaahu 'sallam alayhi waahi) said to the host (host):

((This person has come with us: If you let him go in, and if you do not let him go back.)) The invitee said: I give him permission, O Messenger of Allaah. [Received by Al-Bukhaariy and Muslim].
