Islam's perspective on education

  Meaning of Education
Education is a skill tied to performance
it is also a behavioral change that results from knowledge. In this sense education is not just about knowing it but knowledge is accomplished when it enables the one who knows how to act more effectively than the ignorant.

Educated;
In light of the educational background we have learned above, an educated person is one whose knowledge has enabled him to act more effectively than when he did not have the knowledge.

Expectations of an educated person;
The expectation is that the person who has read should be educated for acting more effectively than the illiterate.

ALLAH [s.w] says' '' '' ... Say can those who know and those who don't? The curious are the only intelligent '' ''
                 [39: 9]

If a person calls himself a scholar for reading many books or for many degrees but his behavior and performance is no different from those who do not read, he is still not educated and his example is the one quoted in the qur-an:

  [The likeness of those who were entrusted with the obligations of the Taurat (Torah) (ie to obey its laws and to enforce its laws), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey that carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). How bad is the example of people who deny the Aydt (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations) of Allah. And Allah guides not the people who are Zdlimun {polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers). Qur'an [62: 5]

Educated and their place in Islam
First, Education is the first freedoms that man has received from his Creator.

["And we taught Adam the names of all things ...."]  Qur'an [2:31]

"The names of all things '' in this paragraph refer to all the educational professions that man needs on earth in order to achieve the purpose of his creation.
The one who has been given the education has been given a lot of good.

['' Allah grants wisdom to whom He wills, and to whom wisdom is given, there is surely much good, and they remember none but the wise.''] qur-an 2:269

Seeking education [reading] is the first commandment for humans
We learn that from the history of the disintegration of qur-an that the first verse to be sent down to the messenger [s.a.w] which was the official initiation is the one found in the first five verses of suratul alaq:
[.''''' Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has been created (all that exists).
2. He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood).
3. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.
4. Who has taught (the writing) by the pen.
5. He has taught man that which he knew''']

                         From these verses we learn the following

1. Reading for a divine being is the first thing humans are commanded by their god
2. To read for the divine is to read to seek his pleasure in order to worship allah properly and to establish Islam in the community
3. Allah's happiness is attained when a person achieves his life's purpose of worshiping allah in accordance with his commandments and limits.
4. This command of reading does not refer to just one specific field of education; but every skill that will enable a person to achieve his life's purpose effectively
5. The source or source of all fields of knowledge is Allah
